• I got it!

   Big news!  Here's the story....enjoy!

  Jake saw his mom over the weekend and got my engagement ring from her and when he asked if he could come in and take me out to a nice dinner, I kind of thought something was up. We made reservations for this really nice Italian restaurant called Ferd Grisanti that I've always, always, always wanted to go to. Before we went though, he told me that he sent my ring off to be sized, and that it would be another 2 or 3 weeks before I got it. I was bummed, but oh well. We had a good time at dinner and then ordered dessert. He started getting really fidgety and I didn't know what was going on.  Our dessert came and I picked up the fork to start eating. He didn't and I was wondering what on earth was going on. I mean, it was this awesome looking piece of cake.  I couldn't understand why he hadn't dug in!    He said, "I can't wait," got up and walked around to my side. I was like, "What are doing? Where are you...Oh. Oh! Oh!!!" Yeah...sometimes I'm a little slow. He got down on one knee and told me he loved me and pulled out the ring box and asked if I would be his wife. I started crying, said "Yes!" and kissed him. I love my ring. It's exactly what I wanted. Radiant princess cut in the middle surrounded by 20 small round diamonds. There are 8 small round diamonds on each side that go around the side of my finger. It is a size too big, so we have to get it sized, but other than that, it's perfect. Yay!

  I've already been planning the wedding, so that's pretty much all finished.  Things are set for June 7, 2008 at 3:45pm.  We'll be getting married at 3:45 on 06-07-08.  Just 7 months from today!  Yesterday was also the 10 month anniversary of our meeting.
